Creating the shared future: LETI will convene Russian and Soviet alumni from African countries in Tanzania

Within the Forum of Russian Alumni in Africa, leading Russian universities will deliver a multi-format program and professional development courses.

October 7 - 8, 2025 the Forum of International Alumni of Soviet and Russian Universities will be held in the Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel. Its participants, graduates of Russian universities, represent education and healthcare institutions in ten African countries.

This international project is implemented by St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University «LETI» with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo (the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation), the Russian Center for science and culture, and the Russian Embassy in Tanzania, in partnership with the State Atomic Energy Corporation «Rosatom».


The October forum promotes Russian education and healthcare in Africa, Russian language and culture; its objective is to enhance international cooperation of universities and consolidate universities and alumni associations in the interaction with business and authorities.

The venue will bring together leaders and employees of higher education and healthcare organizations, representatives of government bodies and state corporations, as well as leaders and members of alumni associations from ten African countries: Angola, Zambia, Kenya, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Ethiopia, and South Africa.

During the two Forum days, experts and lecturers from Russian universities, including academics from St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University «LETI», will hold a multi-format program for the Forum participants. Its program includes round table discussions, master classes, and informal meetings with experts, as well as two professional development courses in the fields of engineering education, healthcare, and medicine.

«Mastering advanced technologies in engineering education and medicine is one of the most important factors for sustainable economic development and social well-being of African countries. Results of the Alumni Forum organized by LETI will be an important contribution into expanding cooperation between Russia and friendly African countries in the fields of research and education».

Note

Forum of International Alumni is the third project with Rossotrudnichestvo in Africa. In 2023 году the First Electrotechnical organized «The Russian Week of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science in Senegal» project; and in 2024 in Zambia it was Days of Robotics and Innovative Education.
